Learning Indonesian language in elementary schools requires the development of basic language skills, especially listening skills, which serve as the foundation for other language abilities. However, in practice, students’ listening skills are still relatively low due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods and the limited use of engaging learning media. This research aims to determine the effect of using audiovisual media on improving the listening skills of second-grade students at SDN 26 Bancoh. The background of this research is based on the low listening ability of students caused by conventional teaching methods and the lack of engaging learning media. This study employs a quantitative approachwith an experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consist of two groups: the experimental group, which is taught using audiovisual media, and the control group, which uses conventional teaching methods. Data collection techniques include test and non-test instruments in the form of observation sheets. The data are analyzed using statistical tests, specifically the t-test, to determine differences before and after treatment. The results indicate that there is a significant improvement in students' listening skills after the use of audiovisual media. Therefore, audiovisual media is proven to be effective in enhancing students' listening skills in Indonesian language learning
